Bob Denver of Gilligan's Island, Dies of Cancer Treatment Related Causes

TV's Gilligan, Bob Denver , has died from causes related to cancer treatment at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in North Carolina. He died Friday at age 70.

Denver's agent made the announcement today. No specifics were included as to what type of cancer Denver suffered or what caused his death. It was also added that he was surrounded by wife Dearma, and his children at the time of death.

"He was my everything and I will love him forever," Denver's wife, Dearma said.

Denver starred in the television series 'Gilligan's Island', which ran from 1963-1967, playing the role of Gilligan. He played bit parts after the series ended, continuing what would be a 50 year career in Hollywood.

No memorial service is planned for the actor. Denver is survived by a wife, four children, and a granddaughter.
