Woman Gets 6 Months in Jail for Faking Cancer Diagnosis
Thursday March 23, 2006
An Arizona woman received 6 months in jail and 200 community service hours at her local hospice for scamming people with her cancer diagnosis. Lynn Wedebrand, however, did not have cancer. In fact, she was perfectly healthy!
Wedebrand went as far to shave her head, pass out in large crowds, and writing funeral details for her children. Over $7500.00 had been donated to her through the efforts of the local Pop Warner Football Association, 1400.00 of it she was ordered to pay back. Young boys sold frozen pizzas for countless hours on her behalf.
It was reported that she was arrested after a police medical background check, which revealed that Lynn Wedebrand did not have cancer. Apparently, her family needed money and that was her motivation for her bogus cancer story.
Poll:Do you think Lynn Wedebrand recevied fair punishment?
