FDA Approves Anti-Smoking Pill

Thursday May 11, 2006
Good news for smokers trying to kick the habit. The FDA has recently approved an anti-smoking pill that shows to be promising. Prescribed to smokers who have smoked for at least one year, Varenicline will make the withdrawal symptoms of smoking less severe and take the "fun" out of smoking. Varenicline suggested dosage is twice a day for 12 weeks. The Pfizer drug will be marketed as "Chantix".
