Tony Snow Reveals Battle with Colon Cancer
Tuesday May 16, 2006
White House Press Secretary Tony Snow revealed his battle with colon cancer last year. During the former Fox News star's first official press briefing as the Press Secretary, a reporter inquired about a yellow wristband that Snow was wearing. Snow revealed it was because of a personal battle with colon cancer he survived last year.
Snow's mother died of the disease when he was 17, and the subject matter was obviously emotional for him as he appeared to be fighting back tears during these personal moments of the briefing. He did make the comment that he was cancer free.
Tony Snow is just one of over 100,000 Americans that are diagnosed with colon cancer each year. It is the second cause of cancer related death among men and women in the U.S.
