Cervical Cancer Survival Rates

By , About.com GuideDecember 5, 2006

Follow me on:

Cervical cancer used to be a significant cause of cancer-related deaths in women in the United States. Fortunately, due to more women getting regular Pap smears, the number of cervical cancer deaths has decreased dramatically, dropping about 74 percent between 1955 and 1992.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer. With regular Pap smears, cervical cancer can be prevented in just about all cases. See cervical cancer survival rates
