Cervical Dysplasia: What Every Woman Needs to Know

Saturday February 10, 2007
Did you know that up to one million women are diagnosed with cervical dysplasia in the U.S. each year? There is goood news about this statistic though! It tells us that 1)women are getting Pap smears and 2)with proper followup, most of the women will not develop cervical cancer.

Women have regular Pap smears to detect cervical dysplasia, a precancerous condition that could lead to cervical cancer if undetected or left untreated. What most women find confusing is the several type of possible results that can come back. LGSIL? ASCUS?

Before your next Pap smear, take the time to learn more about cervical dysplasia. This can be especially helpful if your Pap results come back abnormal, or if you have questions beforehand.
