Designer Liz Claiborne Dies of Cancer

Liz Claiborne, the iconic fashion designer whose career spanned three decades, has died of cancer. She died at New York Presbyterian Hospital Tuesday. According to Claiborne's personal assistant, she suffered from cancer for over eight years, although it was not released what type of cancer. She was 78.
Claiborne was one of the first in the fashion industry to offer a women's clothing line that was both stylish and affordable. Aside from clothing, the Liz Claiborne brand can also be found on handbags, sunglasses, and other accesories.
