In 2007, over eleven thousand women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer. Although cervical cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer, over three thousand women will die of this disease this year. All women should become aware of cervical cancer!Early cervical cancer may not cause noticeable signs or symptoms. Women should have yearly check-ups, including a Pap smear to check for abnormal cells in the cervix. One of the greatest risk factors is infection with HPV (human papillomavirus).
