I am writing simply to inform you of a young man’s selfless act to raise awareness of the sun’s dangers in hopes that we may have unity in our efforts.
On June 19th, 26 year-old Justin Debree departed Key Biscayne, FL on a stand-up paddleboard. He has been paddling at least 30 miles per day and will continue to do so in order to reach St. Mary’s, GA on July 4th. He is fully protected from the sun with protective clothing and sunscreen courtesy of sponsors.
Justin is doing this on his own accord to raise awareness of skin cancer and to raise funds for The World Skin Cancer Foundation so that they may continue to perform screenings at outdoor events and ultimately save lives. In addition, WSCF also puts together curriculum for schools to educate children on the sun’s dangers so that they fully understand the importance of protection at an early age.
Please visit www.worldskincancerfoundation.com or the links below for more information on Justin’s Journey. Also, please help us spread the word of his effort by posting a link to www.worldskincancerfoundation.com/justinsjourney.php in any forum where you feel it may be welcomed.
