Cancer Will be World's Number One Killer by 2010
Tuesday December 9, 2008
The World Health Organization has released a statement that cancer will replace heart disease as the number one global killer by 2010. The rate of cancer diagnosis and death is expected to sharply increase by 2030. This is largely due to increasing tobacco use, especially in developing countries. Other factors include lifestyles favored by Western populations, like diets high in fat and decreased physical activity levels. This truly goes to show that cancer does not discriminate and could affect anyone.
Of course this a bad news, but remember that there are so many things that we can do to prevent cancer. Not smoking, limiting our alcohol consumption, exercising, and practicing safe sex are all ways we can reduce our risk our cancer. Of course, there are some incidiences where it cannot be prevented and the cause cannot be pinpointed, but research shows that a little bit of prevention can go a long way when it comes to cancer.

Hi Lisa. My wife and I have HPV. Is there a way to find out which “type” we have? We’d like to know if the sort we have is the kind that leads to cervical cancer. thanks
