Are You at Risk for Prostate Cancer?

Did you know that it is estimated that over 234,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year? Even worse, about 27,000 men will die of the disease. Prostate cancer is currently the third leading cause of death among men.

What can men do for prevention and early detection? There are several things men can do to be proactive about their prostate health.
  1. Undergo prostate cancer screening at appropriate age. (See current prostate cancer screening guidelines.)
  2. Know and be able to recognize prostate cancer symptoms.
  3. Familiarize themselves with the risk factors of prostate cancer.
  4. Discuss prostate cancer risk with doctor.
