What is Gerson Therapy?

Gerson Therapy is a type of alternative cancer treatment. It is also used to treat other degenerative diseases.

Gerson Therapy is a dietary based alternative cancer treatment. The use of organic fruits and vegetables, enzymes, minerals and hormones help the body to heal, detox, and increase metabolism.

How is Gerson Therapy Given?

Gerson Therapy is administered through dietary modification. Patients are required to drink large amount of juices and eat organic fruits and vegetables. Meals are vegetarian, and prepared with non-aluminum utensils and cookware. No salt or spices are allowed.

Supplements such as vitamins and hormones are given by pill form and by injection. Enemas are also given to remove toxins from the body.

History of Gerson Therapy

Gerson Therapy was founded by Dr. Max Gerson and was initially used to treat migraines and tuberculosis. He later began treating patients with other diseases, like cancer.

Gerson Therapy was first reviewed by the National Cancer Institute in 1946. The NCI reviewed 10 cases of patients who were treated by Gerson. The patients were however, being treated with other forms of cancer treatment. It was unclear as to what therapy really helped the patients.

Gerson claimed that 3 out 10 patients benefited from his treatment. It has yet to be reviewed by the NCI since.

This type of cancer treatment can be very demanding and many people find it difficult to finish the regimen. It takes a lot of self motivation and determination.
