What is the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer?:

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a weekend of fun frundraising events. The walk takes place in eight citites in 2005.

What cities does the walk take place in 2005?:

Charlotte, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago. Denver, San Francisco, LA Beaches, and New York.

What is the distance of the walk? :

That depends on you! You can walk as as far as you can make it! The walk does take place over two days. the first day is a marathon walk of 26.2 miles, and the second is 13.1 miles. The goal is to walk at least the distance of the marathon which is 26.2 miles.

Minimum Age for Participation:

You must be at least 18 for insurance purposes. Keep in mind that anyone can attend and give their support.

So, this is an overnight event?:

Yes! Tents are provided and all walkers camp out in a "wellness Village". This is an excellent opportunity to meet other walkers.

Fundraising Goal:

The goal of each walker is to raise $1800.00. Many people think this is a lot, but soon realize how easy it is to raise funds for this amount. Avon makes the amount this high to ensure a large amount is raised for the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade.
