What is the Breast Cancer 3-Day? :
It is a 60 mile walk fundraiser sponsored by The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The event lasts all weekend in select cities across the United States. The 3-Day begins in August of 2006 this year.
What Cities are Participating?:
Boston, Michigan, Seattle, Twin Cities, Chicago, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Arizona and San Diego are all participating cities of the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
Registration Information:
Registration is open now, and the fee is $90.00. You can register online at www.the3day.org, or by calling (800) 996-3DAY.
How Much Money Do I Have to Raise?:
In order to participate in the walk, you must raise at least $2200. It's easier than you think! The Foundation provides coaches that will help you raise the money.
Age Minimum to Particpate:
You must be at least 16 to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
How is the Money that is Raised Used?:
85% of net proceeds go to cancer research, education, and screening programs through The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Do They Help You Train for the Walk?:
Yes! Each city has organized volunteer walk groups that help you get ready for the big day. It takes months to train up; walkers need to start now.
