What is Zoladex?:

Zoladex is a chemotherapy drug used to treat breast cancer and prostate cancer. It is also used in non cancerous endometrial conditions. Its generic name is goserelin acetate.

How does Zoladex work to fight cancer?:

Zoladex works by starving breast cancer cells of estrogen. Estrogen play a key role in the development of breast cancer cells.

How is Zoladex given?:

Zoladex is given by an injection under the skin. It is usually given monthly or every three months.

Zoladex Common Side Effects :

Hot flashes, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, breast swelling and tenderness, loss of menses,

Less Common Side Effects:

bone pain, headaches, insomnia, depression, skin rashes

Call the doctor immediately if you are experiencing:

inability to urinate , or difficulty urinating, or numbness or tingling in arms or legs
