Answer: A total hysterectomy is a form of treatment for many gynecological cancers. It is common in instances of uterine cancer. There are many types of hysterectomies. A total hysterectomy involves the removal of the uterus and the cervix.

A total hysterectomy is also performed other than to treat cancer, such as fibroids, pelvic pain, and other conditions.
