In October 2006, Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer, a rare type of cancer in the U.S. On her 60th birthday, she announced she was cancer-free. A few months later, a polyp was found and Fawcett resumed treatment in Germany. As of February 2009, Fawcett has discontinued treatment and is reportedly doing well.

Fawcett is no stranger to cancer, having had her sister die of lung cancer. Her long time on-again, off-again companion, Ryan O'Neil also suffered from leukemia.
