Question: HPV and Men
Answer: HPV is a virus that is contracted by both men and women, so yes, men are able to contract and transmit the HPV virus. As of now, there is not a medical test available for men to detect the HPV virus. Women are able to detect the virus through a test that consists of examining cervical cells under a microscope. A doctor can visually examine the penis and surrounding areas for genital warts, a product of an HPV infection.
