Lung Cancer Causes

Considering that lung cancer has the highest rate of of all cancer related deaths, it is important to know the risk factors. There are several known risk factors in lung cancer development such as:
  • Smoking and secondhand smoke
  • Asbestos exposure
  • Use of beta carotene
  • Exposure to radon

There are other risk factors such as age, sex and race that may play a part in lung cancer development. These risk factors are often called "non-modifiable risk factors" because a person has no control over them. More about lung cancer risk factors
