Question: Ovarian Cancer - What Causes Ovarian Cancer?

What exactly causes ovarian cancer?

Answer: Unfortunately, we don't know what exactly causes ovarian cancer. We do know that there are risk factors that increase our chances of developing ovarian cancer, but do not know an exact cause.

Research does tell us that an inherited mutated gene may be the culprit behind many cases of ovarian cancer. The BRCA gene is responsible for both hereditary ovarian and breast cancer cases.
