How Did Treatment Affected Your Day-To-Day Life?

Letting go of control. Letting others help with the mundane day to day to chores, is very humbling and difficult. Advice from people who want to help, but have no idea that "relax" is not helpful. Not being allowed to be alone initially is very demeaning. Not allowed to drive. Part of it for me may be that I am 40 so it is very hard to accept. I feel if you can do some simple things you always have done you feel a bit more normal and you may heal a bit more normally.

Advice

  • The doctor tells your family that there will be emotional changes. My entire family blames everything on the surgery. It feels I am not being listened to because I had surgery on the brain and I don't know what I am talking about. I do get very angry, and I feel I have the right to express my feelings about all aspects of what is happening to me.
  • I know I am processing slower, but I am processing and do know I have some thoughts and opinions of what may be best for me.
  • My cancer is just that. MINE not your friends,cousins,neighbors.......
